In three days I begin a very long flight. I will leave on March 30, fly to Chicago, fly to Warsaw, and then fly to Yerevan, arriving two days later. A picture of the destination:
To sum up, I'll be living in Yerevan, Armenia on a volunteer trip. I'll stay with a host family and divide my time between working at the Women's Resource Center, the International Center for Human Development, and also working on an independent research project on gender and politics in Armenia. I am not really a social media savvy person, and as a rule do not blog or tweet or four square or facetime. But here's my attempt at documenting my time abroad.

I love the name of the blog -- reminds me a bit of "Dawn in America", which I believe was the name of a famous Reagan for President ad in 1980
